I am Dr. Eriko Onishi, a medical doctor and board certified family physician.
I have been practicing Family Medicine since 2001 when I finished my residency training in Indiana. In October 2011, I joined the Oregon Health and Science University Family Medicine Department as a faculty member. At OHSU, I am fortunate to be simultaneously practicing and teaching Family Medicine with both American and Japanese medical students and residents.
I was born in Tokushima, Japan and received my medical degree from Tsukuba School of Medicine. I came to the United States to learn more about Family Medicine since the field was not yet widely practiced in Japan at that time.
I also began practicing hospice care in 2008 and am now certified in both Hospice and Palliative medicine.
